Girls Lunch!

Lauren is wearing her new dress that she got from Grandma Sara! I can't believe how big she is getting. Looking at this picture it is amazing to me how much she has grown. I think she is close to doubling in size!

Party Day!

Lauren had a very big day today! She first met her great aunt and uncle LeRoy and Doreen and then she had a party at Grandma Criswell's house! It was a fun day for her and she got so many neat things at the party that she can use and wear. What a great day!

Bath Night!

Lauren had a bath tonight so she would be looking her best for her party tomorrow. The moment after we pull her out of the bath and wrap her in the towel is seriously my favorite part of the day. So, so, so cute!!

Having Fun!

Lauren has been such a good girl the last few days and has been having so much fun playing with her "play gym" that she got from our friends Jeff, Brynn, and Maryn!

We had fun today playing with Abby for a few hours and she was such a good helper! Tomorrow we got to Grandma Criswell's house for a rescheduled baby shower that was supposed to be held the week after she was born!

Feeling much better

The soy formula seems to have done the trick! Lauren is feeling much, much better today and has been having fun playing this morning. Here are a few videos I took of her playing.

Sleeping better!

I laugh as I write that title because it is 3AM right now. The last few nights of sleep have been terrible to say the least. I took her to the doctor yesterday because of it and some other issues and it turns out she has a milk aversion. So, they suggested starting her on soy formula and that (so far) has seemed to do the trick! She is sleeping better and not fussy and her digestion seems to be a lot better! Cross your fingers that this means sleeping through the night very soon. :)

Oh, and the very good news at the doctor visit is that little miss Lauren now weighs in at 8 pounds! She is catching up and the doctor was impressed with her gains!

First Father's Day Weekend!

We started in out with a lovely breakfast and some cuddle time. :)

Getting bigger every day!

Everyone is always saying how fast babies change and grow. I never realized how much this is true until now! She is getting bigger every single day. It is amazing! I think she is well over 7 pounds now and keeps gaining weight and getting longer every day. We had a good night last night and she has started sleeping a little better.

Trip to work

Yesterday Lauren and I went to my office and visited all of our work friends! She slept the entire time and had a lot of fun. :) My co-workers in legal surprised me with a beautiful pink basket filled with girly stuff for Lauren, they are so sweet and thoughtful!

Tonight my cousin Heather and her new husband Jeff are coming to visit. They just moved to Kansas City a few weeks ago after their wedding and we are excited to see them! We are thinking they will make perfect babysitters every once in a while. :)

Its getting hot in here...

Still no AC. Thank goodness Lauren's room is the coolest in the house. She is sleeping soundly right now in her cool palace. :) The AC people tell me they will be here "soon."

First babysitter!

Yesterday was a pretty big day in our lives, Lauren stayed here with Grandma Criswell while I went and was treated to a belated mother's day massage (a gift from Grandma Criswell!). Lauren did great and slept the entire time with Grandma!

Our air conditioning broke yesterday, so last night was a pretty long, hot night. We made it through though and they are supposed to be here to fix it today. I think we are the epitomy of murphy's law around here.

Tomorrow Lauren and I are making a trip to visit my office and see all of our friends there, I am very excited!

She got several new outfits yesterday from both Grandma Sara and the Coen family. Can't wait to take pictures in her new clothes!

First church visit a success!

We went to church this morning with Lauren and she slept through the entire service! I got her a special outfit for the occasion and everyone commented on how cute she looked. We have set her baptism for July 11th and are so excited for that day!

Tummy time!

We are having a very nice Saturday as a family, currently watching the world cup game and Lauren just did her "tummy time." She is getting really good at lifting her head up!

Yesterday we went over to Chris and Jodi's house and Uncle Chris held Lauren for the first time!

Tomorrow we are planning to take her to church and I went and got her a new outfit today for the occasion. I'll make sure to take lots of pictures, mom. :)

One long night...

Lauren has decided that she doesn't like to sleep at night! She is sleeping soundly right now in her chair, but kept us up almost the entire night last night! This morning when we "woke up" we thought maybe she was getting sick or something, but now I'm thinking she just has her days and nights confused. So, that is my project over the next few days - get her back to sleeping at night!

I'm really looking forward to the weekend and having Tim here so we can hang out as a family!

One month old today!

Lauren is one month old today! Grandma and Grandpa Schlake made a visit today since it was raining and Grandpa couldn't be in the fields!

I'm going to take a picture of her in this chair next to the lamb every month so I can see how much she has grown over the year! I've also attached some photos of her room (which is almost complete!)

We successfully made it through our first day without daddy! I am pretty sure that I would not make a good housewife though...I've been going a little stir crazy today!

First Walk

Today is my first day at home with Lauren without Tim - so far, so good! All three of us went for a walk last night for the first time and we had a lot of fun (aside from discovering a hole in our siding on the way back home - eek!).

I also took a few really cute pictures of Lauren yesterday on her changing table. She is just so cute I can't help myself!!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Yesterday was Tim's birthday and we had a great day. It was pretty low-key as far as birthdays go, but still a lot of fun! Grandma Criswell came over in the afternoon and then Chris, Jodi, Abby, and John came over for dinner.

Daddy-Daughter Day

I'm off in a few minutes to do some long-overdue errands (including buying Tim's b-day gift, which is for tomorrow! whoops!).

Tim and Lauren are enjoying some quality time together, Tim is introducing her to some of his favorite music. The two of them said I wouldn't understand...

Visitors!

We had several fun visitors today! Chris, Jodi, and Abby stopped by to see Lauren and Abby did a great job of holding her! Here is a video of the moment. I think she will make a great babysitter someday!
Our friend Sara also stopped by and visited with us and gave Lauren some adorable finger puppets.

It has been nice today seeing friends!

We also went to see the doctor this afternoon and Lauren gained 1/2 a pound a grew 1 1/2 inches since last Friday! The doctor's office was pretty amazed!

First of all, let me me say...this mommy is tired. Very, very, very tired. For some reason our easy to fall asleep baby turned into a terror last night and would not sleep. At. all.

Anyways, she is sleeping right now and hopefully will get in a good nap and then sleep for us tonight!

Our friend Laura came over last night and took some photos of Lauren, I think they turned out great! Lauren was not exactly cooperative though! Hopefully for the next photos we have taken she will be less fussy!

As you can see, Lauren is a true Nebraska fan! She doesn't own any Mizzou apparel (obviously!), but Laura decided to give her a Mizzou hat in one of these pics!

Lauren is doing great, she is doing a lot of eating and sleeping. Tonight our friend Laura is coming over to take some photos of Lauren and I am so excited!

I took a little break today and had lunch with my friend Heather. It was nice to get out of the house for a while. We are keeping Lauren inside for a while so that she doesn't get sick, but in a few weeks we can start taking her outside for walks and going on little adventures together!
